My story
I studied comparative literature in English and French at UC Berkeley. Post college I moved to Paris and worked in a photo lab and cozy Vietnamese restaurant. I assisted some fashion photographers and realized that wasn't for me; I am most inspired by real people and their stories.
In addition to documenting weddings and families, I enjoy creative portraiture, documentary, and editorial work—you can view some of that here.
When I'm not working, I'm...
Directing and producing a short documentary film about my mom, who started a second career in her 60's working as an extra in film and tv. She’s been everything from an alien nun in a Marilyn Manson video to a distinguished wedding guest in Glee; find out more here.
Helping my bestie from college make wine in the south of France; ok maybe I’m drinking her wine and only sort of helping. I'm also eating lots of cheese ———>>>
Reading too many books at a time: the most recent rotation includes: Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson and Pleasure Activism: The Politics of Feeling Good, by Adrienne Maree Brown.
Pucker up, buttercup!
There are times when I’m editing shots from a wedding and I start smiling to myself, because the joy is so palpable. I've even caught myself pursing my lips at the computer screen because someone is smooching in the image.
I’m your gal if…
You’re getting married under an oak tree, in mist so thick it drops like rain. There will be no saving your mascara (it happened)
You can’t wait to see your grandma dancing with your best friend… and don’t mind if I dance with grandma (she insisted)
Your guests are wearing lederhosen at your wedding in the Austrian Alps
